Features
Increases application accuracy and efficiency

The Raven AutoBoom™ automated boom-height control system reduces spray drift and increases the accuracy and effectiveness of chemical applications, allowing operators to perform faster, more-efficient, hands-free applications.
Operators can monitor other functions of the sprayer, with less need to constantly watch the boom height.
The Raven UltraGlide kit's ultrasonic sensors send and receive a signal to maintain the desired boom height above the ground or canopy.
The Raven PowerGlide Plus kit's wheel sensors skim across the ground to maintain the desired boom height above the ground.
PowerGlide Plus uses wheel sensors to feel for the ground, while UltraGlide uses ultrasonic sensors to look for the ground.

Hydraulically controlled design delivers smooth and responsive adjustments

The hydraulically controlled design of the Raven AutoBoom™ delivers the industry’s smoothest, most responsive height-adjusting system.
AutoBoom ties directly into the sprayer’s hydraulic system, keeping it in a controlled float. The hydraulic valve is always open and looking to make adjustments with pressure on demand.
The speed of AutoBoom’s response to adjustments is dictated by the machine’s hydraulic system. The sprayer’s boom reacts at the same speed it did prior to the installation of AutoBoom.
AutoBoom uses minimal hydraulic oil. The maximum oil usage for AutoBoom is 3 gpm, even in the worst field conditions.

Universal solutions with ISOBUS compatibility

The Raven AutoBoom™ automated boom-height control system is ISOBUS compatible. Both the Raven PowerGlide Plus and UltraGlide sensor kits require one of the following displays for easy in-cab monitoring and quick adjustments:
- GreenStar™ 3 2630 Display
- GreenStar 2 (GS2) 1800 Display
- GS2 2100 Display
- GS2 2600 Display
- 8R Series Tractor CommandCenter™ controls
- Other ISOBUS displays
The Raven AutoBoom PowerGlide Plus and UltraGlide kits are available for pull-type sprayers, competitive self-propelled sprayers, and 4700/4710 Series John Deere Self-Propelled Sprayers.
One-touch calibration for quick and easy setup and adjustments
Once the AutoBoom hardware is installed, programming and setting up the system is straight forward and intuitive.
Calibration is done with one touch and adjustments can be made on the fly.

PowerGlide Plus wheel sensors feel for the ground

The Raven PowerGlide Plus kit uses wheel sensors to maintain the desired boom height above the ground.
PowerGlide Plus is typically used in pre-emergent applications, but can be utilized in post-emergent applications as well.
Two wheel sensors feel for the ground and adjust the height of the boom according to the settings programmed in the ISO bus display.
For excellent performance in extreme field conditions and higher speeds, PowerGlide Plus features no-flat wheels and a shock absorber. The wheels do not support the weight of the boom and skip along the contour of the ground.
PowerGlide Plus can be used in conjunction with UltraGlide. To do this, an UltraGlide kit must be purchased and have the PowerGlide Plus wheels ordered separately.
Reduces boom maintenance

Slamming or dragging a boom on the ground is a costly and inefficient operator error.
Raven AutoBoom™ system virtually eliminates this occurrence by maintaining the desired boom height and making adjustments automatically for hills and valleys where operators may not be able to react quickly enough to maintain proper boom height.
AutoBoom ties directly into the boom’s center rack hydraulic cylinders through a pressure based hydraulic system that ensures smoother vertical movement of the boom.
Operators reduce maintenance on the entire machine by being able to watch for damaging obstacles in the field such as rocks, holes, telephone poles and fence lines.
Benefits of reduced boom maintenance:
- Save money
- Less down time
- Longer life for sprayer and boom
- Higher resale value for sprayer

Reduces operator fatigue

It can be difficult for operators to constantly monitor large booms and gauge proper boom height from the cab. The Raven AutoBoom™ automated boom-height control system eliminates the guesswork while reducing operator fatigue and machine wear and tear.
AutoBoom allows operators to be more productive and focused on tasks other than boom height while navigating through the field, while ensuring an optimal spray height to maximize chemical performance.
Benefits of reduced operator fatigue:
- More alert during long hours of operation
- Ensures accuracy of application
- Increases operator efficiency
